RETRO SERIES: Camp Jellystone (BLK). Okay, time for a history lesson. Did you know that the Blackrock Campground was the first “Camp Jellystone” in the west? Yogi Bear, Cindy, Boo-Boo, and Ranger Smith were all hanging out right here in Joshua Tree National “Monument”. Remember, this was back from 1970-1976, when it was still the “Monument” and not the “Park” yet. There was a pool behind the Ranger Station and everything. This is our throwback ode to yesteryear… the good ole’ yesteryears. HAHA! Joshua tree is locked in the eternal 1970’s and we LOVE THAT!
